I first discovered Iyengar Yoga in 1998 when I was still very involved with sport. I found it really helped the back pain I’d been struggling with and also improved my sports performance. Slowly but surely, yoga took over as my main interest, and in 2016 I made the decision to take on teacher training to deepen my knowledge and improve my practise.
One of the things I love about Iyengar yoga is the mental peace it can bring, but I also love that as I get older and slower at other sports, I get better at yoga! I can do poses now that I couldn’t do in my 20s, and I think that’s an amazing testimony to Iyengar yoga.
