Biography
I am a level 2 introductory Iyengar yoga teacher who began teaching in 2019. At the moment I teach a class online on Saturdays at 1pm.
I took up yoga in 2014 to address both back pain and anxiety/depression – I tried many things before yoga, none of which gave me the same sense of physical health and mental stability as yoga does. Yoga gives us a unique set of tools to tackle whatever issues we have, mental or physical. It’s also a great source of fun and joy if we don’t have any problems!
One of my favourite things about Iyengar yoga is how practice can be suited to your needs – on the one hand I’m a very active person so enjoy jumping around doing the physically demanding stuff, but on the other hand I have a physically demanding job as a professional dog walker so I get a lot out of the restorative side of practice too.
With the use of props and pose variations practice can also be altered to accommodate issues such as knee pain, weight issues, or injuries, meaning anyone and everyone can benefit from Iyengar Yoga.
