At this workshop, Meg will show how simple well-known asanas can be used as the foundation for more advanced ones. She will pay particular attention to using the breath in order to keep the body receptive to the inner actions of the asanas, and to illustrate the crucial link between asana and pranayama.

Meg Laing started Iyengar Yoga in Oxford in 1972 with the late Penny Nield-Smith and subsequently (from 1974) continued in Edinburgh with Bob and Kathy Welham. She first attended classes with BKS Iyengar in Pune in 1977. Meg is a Senior Intermediate teacher and has been closely associated with the Edinburgh Iyengar Yoga Centre since its foundation. In partnership with Elaine Pigeon, she was responsible for training Introductory teachers in Edinburgh for many years, and she is a Moderator and Assessor for IY(UK). Meg brings experience, enthusiasm and a ‘can do’ approach to her teaching.
