Coming Next

The Professional Development Days for teachers in 2017 will be held on 18 March and 10 September at Yoga Sarvasya.

To book, please contact Valerie Miller vjmiller7882@gmail.com

Julie Anderson will teach a workshop on Saturday 13 May (2pm -5pm)

We are hoping that Elaine Pigeon will teach a workshop after the summer. She is the most senior Scottish teacher, and was personally honoured by Mr Iyengar for her services to Iyengar yoga.

We are also delighted that Uday Bhosale, who studied with Mr Iyengar and taught in Pune for many years, has agreed to come and teach an iYoga Glasgow workshop next year.

Limited knowledge can only give limited experience   B K S Iyengar

Teachers know that they may give instructions repeatedly, only to be told by students that they suddenly understand what we’ve been saying after another teacher expresses it differently.

Teachers don’t mind! We find this ourselves, and good teachers embrace every opportunity to learn.

So as students of yoga (we are all students) we should attend as many workshops as possible.

10th Anniversary of Yoga Sarvasya

Congratulations to Bonar Hutcheson who celebrated 10 years of running his Partick studio in August with a workshop with Patrick le Roy.

We hope Bonar will continue to invite international teachers to teach in his studio, and wish him continued success. Visit www.yogasarvasya.com for details.

New Studio

Best wishes to Frances McKee who has moved her studio from existing premises in Jordanhill to more spacious premises off Sauchiehall Street. Visit www.theyogaextension.com for details.

Workshop with Nathalie Blondel

Nathalie Blondel

10.00 am -13.00 pm

The Yoga Extension

Studio A, 5 Newton Terrace Lane G3 7PB

As with all knowledge and especially one which is a science, an art and a practical philosophy the more I know and learn and understand, the more I realise that I have just begun to scratch the surface of this wonder that is Iyengar Yoga. What I love most about it is its ethical quality. It’s fun of course and a sense of humour is a crucial element but for me it’s the fact that it brings such balance and equanimity. If you approach your practice with a measured openness, then yoga will be a constant source of strength in all aspects of your life.” We warmly welcome Nathalie’s return. She has over 15 years teaching experience and holds a Senior Level 2

certificate.

BKS Iyengar in 1977

On 14th December Mr Iyengar would have been 98. Here is a film clip showing him in 1977.
